The science is in ...

Music is a whole body and brain learning experience - food for the growing brain!

Given most of the brain's circuitry is developed in the first 4 years of life, fostering a love for music in these early years equates to fostering a love for life.

Branch into Music offers the chance for parents/carers to explore and share the joy of music with their babies / small children.

However to describe these practical, thirty minute classes as music classes does not do justice to the carefully planned activities that explore critical aspects of a young child’s development.

Early literacy and numeracy, along with fine motor skills, self-awareness and self-expression are all covered in these action packed classes that never fail to capture the hearts and imagination of those who are young and young at heart.

Branch Into Music early childhood music and movement classes aim to encourage each child’s musical development.

They utilise songs, rhymes, games and beautiful props to encourage children to feel the beat and gain confidence in singing.

They include both structured and unstructured movement activities and instrument playing.

Children also participate in active listening activities.

The songs and rhymes used are short and easy, have a limited vocal range and include repetition to aid in-tune singing.

What people are saying ...

Katie, Parent

Anne’s impact on my son (3) has been wonderful. He can sometimes be shy in groups, but Anne has helped him to feel comfortable and to feel that he can participate and express himself. He now loves to sing and dance at home, and can participate in music, dancing, and singing at kindergarten more confidently thanks to Anne. He looks forward to music every week!

Sophie, Parent

Branch Into Music classes are a real highlight of the week, both for my boys and myself. My two boys aged 2 and 4 love attending Anne’s classes and I thoroughly enjoy watching them dance, sing and interact with other children through music.

The half hour music classes are innovative and stimulating for children of all ages. Anne’s enthusiasm, in depth knowledge and passion for music are evident in all aspects of her teaching.

Each class is well researched and thoroughly planned. Anne uses a wide range of musical and non-musical props to engage the children and enhance her lessons. She also explains and demonstrates the developmental benefits of music.

The classes deliver a valuable and thoroughly enjoyable experience for all.

Felicity, Parent

I’m so glad we found this activity for my daughter and I. Within two months she is singing in tune and can stamp in time with a beat. Even her speech has improved!

She of course has no idea that she is learning, because she has so much fun during the activities with the endless, beautiful props Anne lets them play with. What a great activity to do with your little one. I only wish I had discovered it earlier so that I could have brought my son!
